Volunteer

THANK YOU!

The DIA would like to express its sincere gratitude to the EuroMeeting 2010 co-chairs, theme leaders, advisors, session chairs and speakers who are making this conference possible – a truly comprehensive, neutral exchange of information and knowledge. All our EuroMeeting volunteers have dedicated considerable time and energy in putting together this world-class programme.

GET INVOLVED IN DIA

DIA is a volunteer-driven, financially independent, nonprofit organisation funded from our meeting and membership fees. DIA is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Board of Directors sets the overall strategic direction for DIA activities. To assist the Board and provide guidance and local oversight, Regional Advisory Councils are now in place for Europe, North America, Japan, India, and China. Like its counterparts in other regions, the Advisory Council of Europe (ACE) provides strategic input to the Board or Executive Director on the portfolio of products and services, and helps build and maintain member affiliation, for DIA in Europe. These advisory councils also consist of volunteers and report to the board through their chairpersons.

DIA first established our presence in Europe in 1988. The European Branch office in Basel was legally registered in 2000. Since then, DIA has established additional regional offices in Japan, India, and China. DIA also offers numerous Special Interest Area Communities (SIACs), built around approximately 20 international disciplines, to provide you with opportunities to share common experiences and expertise with colleagues who share your specific professional discipline or interest. If you’d like to learn more about DIA SIACs, we invite you to attend the “SIAC Meet and Eat” on Tuesday, 9 March from 12:30-13:15.

The strength of DIA is our volunteers, members, and meeting participants, just like you. Serving as a DIA volunteer – by contributing an article to our member publications, speaking at a conference or workshop, instructing a training course, or contributing to association governance and leadership – helps support your colleagues and can even shape the future of your own profession.

Sarah Schuppener is the Volunteer Services Coordinator for Europe. Sarah can be reached at +41 61 225 5162 or sarah.schuppener@diaeurope.org.
